This is a very practical and simple drill for QB’s that works on your mobility in the pocket. All you need is yourself and one other person standing in front of you. Start off by taking either a 3 or 5 step drop, once you get to the end of your drop you should be chopping your feet (foot fire) right underneath your shoulders. At this point the person in front of you can point right, left, forward, or backwards. It is your job to move as fast as possible to where they point, always leading with your back foot. Get your feet underneath your shoulders again and move with the next direction. The rep should last 30 seconds to 1 minute. Once you are comfortable with the drill you can end by throwing a pass to a standing target downfield. This will further simulate a real game experience. Remember t is important to ALWAYS lead with your back foot as this will create a passing position at all times.
Example directions in one rep: right, forward, left, right, back, left, left, right, forward, back, left, right, right, back, back, right, foot fire, and your done.
Points of emphasis: Be quick, eyes are always looking downfield, always leading with back foot, after every direction feet end up underneath shoulders, keep ball up by chest in pre-loaded position.
