When working to improve your Wide Receiver skillset, never forget about the simple things that will lead to success. Work on stances and get-offs as much as you possibly can. Keep the weight on your front foot, push off low and hard. NO FALSE STEPS! Perfecting get-offs can mean the difference between converting on third and long or having to punt.
How many steps should I take after the get-off? do I need to run 5-10 yards or just 4-5 steps? Does it matter?
Hello Reggie,
Make sure you are going far enough to simulate a real snap of the football and real get-off. Usually the ideal distance would be a little over 5 yards probably. That way you can get out of your stance completely and transition to sprinting. Thanks for the interest!
